Why is Experience Important
When Electing a CD Chair?

  • The ability to fight anti-labor interests is only increasing. Here in Wisconsin, over $30 million dollars has been spent to stop important legislation such as the Employee Free Choice Act by organizations like Wisconsin Manufacturer's Association. (click on orange links for more information)

To stop these crimes against "Working Families" we need to be organized and construct grassroot activities with other unions like I have done to get the message out there that "When the People lead the Politicians will follow."

  • Lobbying, screening, endorsing, and campaigning is essential in maintaining the middle class in America.

Through coalition building we are able to accomplish these goals. Knowing how and who to organize has helped to elect leaders in the 1st CD who have 100% voting records for "Working Families."

I won't kid you, this has not been an overnight project. It has taken two federal election cycles to build this coalition to what it is today. At the beginning there were weekly meetings and many hours on the telephone to establish an interest between other unions to work together. But we did it! All the unions come together to screen and endorse candidates. Then we pool our resources and campaign. We gather our hundreds of volunteers and phone poll, canvass and do letter writing campaigns. Our model is working, we currently have 3 state elected officials who have 100% voting records for "Working Families." We have Feingold and Kohl in Washington too.

  • The future is in our hands and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

We will continue to develop timely and effective responses to local, state, and national legislative initiatives and we will continue to develop and maintain broad ranged groups of trained active political volunteers. Because that is what we do!
